I hope this missive finds you well. I should apologize for my silence as of late. I have been busier than usual lately with regards to training to advance in rank, but I think that's a poor excuse for the length of my silence. Are you well? And Ame? How is it this time of year?
Wind is going to be heating up soon. If you decide to make a trip, be sure to stay hydrated.
I will probably not be seeing Suna again for some time. Much is going on in the world and it's not... time for me to be away from my home. I have many duties here that I should not leave unattended, even for visits.
The weather has finally turned to warm rains on some days, and it's incredibly pleasant this time of year.
Your dedication is admirable. I don't think you've ever mentioned your rank? It sounds as though you have quite a bit of responsibility in Ame.
That sounds different from Suna. I've traveled outside Wind before on business, so I am familiar with other climates. I don't think I've visited many that are graced with warm rains, though.
I did promise to be a good friend and this letter is one small step in my doing so. I'm otterly serious in that promise so don't forget that okay.
Alas, as much as your little country has been kind to me, even if it took you a while to stop being shy and say hello yourself. Some things that I use in my wares or for my little side business of fortune telling are not common here. Thus I must go out to acquire such things. Fear not I only have to go to Fire for such so I won't be gone too long if Fire is kind to me.
I'm not sure when this will have reached you, if it does at all, which is why I left copies of this in a few towns along the way with some innkeepers who were oddly happy to promise to deliver them to you if you happen to be seen on one of your patrols. So you may have already noticed I left if you actually are keeping track of me, so hopefully this will show it's not like I'm leaving for good or such.
I'll write once more when I reach Tanazuka, and I'll make certain to bring presents back with me as well.

I'll keep my pen close. It's been too long.

It sounds better than cold rains.

Kazue,
The country of Rain is mine, and Ame is my village.
Cold rain is winter here, often causing ice when it strikes down and liquid until that point. It's not a very comfortable time of year.

Masanori,
There appears to be some form of code in your letter I do not recognize.
Nagato.

What code? Those are my drawings!
Don't you like them? ( ๑‾̀◡‾́)σ»

I presumed the symbols had some form of meaning. My mistake. They are... stylish?
Nagato

They have meaning! They convey my feelings!!!! (゚´Д`゚)゚

I must inform you I do not know this language.

Its okay!! I can teach you.
It's real easy. You just draw how you feel!!!! ( ・ㅂ・)و ̑̑

If I were to guess at your feelings by that drawing I would guess intense fear.

How did you get that from that? (゜-゜)

Was that wrong? That one looks like you're listening intently.
Nagato

Eh, close enough!
The first one was something a like a "yes!" feeling. The second one was confused, but looking at it, it could be listening intently!
What's this one look like?

That one makes me worry for you as you're clearly very ill and haven't been sleeping.
