2 Jutsu: [Action] Nagato Uzumaki: College History Professor

August 2nd, 5th, and 6th
[Nagato Uzumaki is a professor who has all his classes in the mornings. Well, except for his Tuesday lecture hall, which is promptly at 5pm every week. Every other day, his classes end no later than two o'clock, and he stays for another hour after to be completely sure that if any of his students with questions, and he teaches history, so he wants those questions, will be able to find him to get answers.

He might, perhaps, bend the rules a little for students who really want to learn, pretending that he doesn't know that they didn't have tuition for a class, for instance, but he's very careful to play up the idea that no, really, he simply never noticed that they weren't supposed to be there. He doesn't take roll, after all, why would he notice?

In any case, this is his normal routine, with his weekends being free to spend with his family, most especially his wife and teenage daughter.

Unfortunately, this particular Friday saw him trapped in a staff meeting instead of going home. Excellent.

At least he could call a few people before then to let them know about the weekend plans while they waited for everyone to show up.]

August 3rd
[The weekend meant freedom! It also meant that the little get together that he and Kushina had been talking about for the last week might yet become reality! He just... needed to try and let everyone else know the time. Which meant Saturday, but hey, there was nothing wrong with him going and visiting family anyway, and if he was inviting them to his house for a Saturday BBQ? Well, that just meant that he was multitasking.

He just really, really had to make sure that someone who knew how to work the grill showed up, that was all.]

August 4th
[Nagato had a bit of a religious bent, so you'll miss him early Sunday, but he'll definitely be around the rest of the day since both his daughter and wife will be off doing school stuff later that evening and he'll be more than free.]

(ooc note: Any family members who want him to come to them instead of vise versa are welcome to say he appeared on your doorstep Saturday morning/afternoon! Also, he will be inviting ALL his in-laws. Looking at you Hyuugas, though your invites will likely be through Barnaby. There will be a separate log post put up for the Party itself, this is just all the invites and other assorted things Nagato is involved in.

Revenge of the edit: I forgot the dance ahaha oops. So I moved the BBQ to Saturday.)

2nd, evening

[Luckily, Konan is making dinner that's meant to be cooked slowly, so it's not a problem to let it cook a little slower, on the lowest setting possible, to ensure that it's fresh and ready for Nagato when he gets home. Elie has been working at her part time job and busying herself with the upcoming homecoming dance. She's been hearing all about the dance for some time, but she's continued to maintain her usual patient demeanour. She remembers being excited about that day quite some time ago while dating Nagato.

When he finally returns home, their fluffy white cat Angel meows to herald his arrival.]

Welcome home.

[He had always relished those words. For years it was he and Kushina, then he'd met Konan and suddenly there was a little more to call home. Now? Now he had a huge family, many chosen, few blood, and he absolutely loved it. He moved over to press a kiss to her cheek with a warm smile, sliding an arm around her back.]

Happy to be home. Did you have a good day?

[She wraps her arms around him, resting her head on his chest. She's glad he's home and that his after class meetings didn't delay him even more than they already did. He works long hours sometimes, and he's not the only one who can fuss over someone.]

The doctor said the baby and I are very healthy, and that as long as I'm eating well and resting when I need it, everything should be fine.

[It's as much an assurance as it is sharing good news. She's excited about the upcoming baby, but she doesn't want to put a halt on her usual routine more than normal. At this point in her pregnancy, though, she's had to concede that the gardening should be done by someone else, and so should any chores that require her to spend much of the time crouching down.]

[If anything, he further brightened, nuzzling in against her temple as he held her close. It was good, very good, that the doctor had said nothing was wrong. He wouldn't have known what to do with himself if something had been wrong.

After all, he didn't want to steal her classes from her, because he knew how much she cared about her students, but he'd still worried. Okay he was still going to fret and fuss but maybe a bit less now.]

I'm really glad. If you want I can pack you lunches!

That won't be necessary, but thank you all the same.

[She reaches up to touch his cheek fondly.]

If I can't find the time and energy to make my own lunches while on maternity leave, there is a problem.

[He wilted, just a bit, and tilted his head into her hand to almost nuzzle her fingers.]

Maybe I just wanted to make you lunches.

[Konan sees that look and feels a little bad. She leans up and gives him a light kiss.]

Well, I won't stop you if you want to, Nagato. But you are working full time, and I have all of this time off.

[teachingpeace]

Well, I happen to love you, so if I can't do anything else to show you how much because I'm so busy, I can at least do that, right?

[He lifted his hand and ran the backs of his fingers down her cheek.] Timing is so unfair sometimes.

Or you could use the time you were going to spend preparing my lunch massaging my shoulders instead.

[It's her roundabout way of asking for a shoulder rub. The extra weight she's carrying around occasionally hurts her back. Especially since some of it went to her chest rather than only her stomach.]

That's an option, too.

....That is a perfectly wonderful option I would be more than happy to do, yes.

[He kissed her temple.] In fact, I could probably do that right now.

5th, after class?

[It's not like she's supposed to be here or anything, but... hey. Some habits die hard and she really had been trying to get an education before things went haywire.

She doesn't have anything better to do anyway. And if she's a little slower than everyone else in leaving, then maybe it's just because there's not much out there for her to do right now.

Kinda likes it in here. History's cool.]

[He noticed the blond lingering around as everyone else left, and his tone was quiet when he addressed her.]

Temari. Did you like the lesson?

[She props a hip on the desk and looks up at him.] Yeah. A lesson's a lesson, right?

...I hope you got more out of it than just it being a vague lesson. [He isn't going to pout, but he's definitely a bit put out that she made him sound boring.]

[She shakes her head.] Wouldn't be here otherwise.

[teachingpeace]

[That quelled the threatening pout rather effectively, and he felt his smile come back.] Very true. Did you have any questions?

2nd, phone!

Saturday plans? We have none, that I know of. [ She's actually grateful that her secluded life as a housewife who's out of work and sewing things has still made sure she has room to socialize, although it is mostly with middle class and poor mothers and her family. ]

Excellent! Me and Kushina were talking about a BBQ this weekend and I wanted to make sure all of you were coming before buying things. I'll get extra in case of surprises, but family gets to make requests so... you know.

I think a night where I don't have to cook dinner sounds pretty good to me! Not to mention, Ikki and Chien always love seeing their siblings. [ SHE DON'T CARE. SHE LOVES IT. ]

I'd be happy to help with flipping, if Naruto doesn't get to it first.

I wouldn't worry, I'm sure my sister will be pretty aggressively on the grill herself at least part of the time. She's done that at everyone one of these we've ever thrown so...

I know. Your sister is a great cook. It's why instead of just the family, the whole neighborhood shows up. [ but really what is the difference.... ]

Well then, I'm glad for her intervening. She's quite the versatile cook! [ She knows this from first hand experience. It's hard living up to Naruto's standards of a home cooked meal sometimes. ]

True. [He laughed softly, and the smile was clear in his voice.] But she didn't start that way, it came with practice.

I'm sure she's a natural talent, Nagato! Who knows, maybe you have the skills in your heart, or stomach, this whole time.
